GEN2GEN CHAMPION TOOLKIT

Thank you for being a Gen2Gen champion and for helping to lead the Gen2Gen campaign.

If you haven’t already registered as a champion, please sign up here and we’ll send you campaign updates, notices about opportunities just for champions, and of course opportunities to stand up for — and with — kids in your community.

Of over 50,000 Gen2Gen supporters around the world, you’re part of a select group making standing up for and with kids the norm in later life.

We’ve created the resources on this page to help equip you to help others live #Gen2Gen.

First, we’d love to give you this Gen2Gen champion badge you can download and proudly display on your website, below your email signature, on your social media channels and anywhere else you see fit.

When possible, please hyperlink the badge image or add text that links back to www.iamgen2gen.org so that others can learn more about how they can stand up and show up for and with kids who need champions.

SPREAD THE WORD

One of the easiest and most helpful things you can do is to help spread the word about Gen2Gen and our collective mission to bring generations together. Here’s how:

TALKING ABOUT THE CAMPAIGN

Here is suggested language to use when sharing about Gen2Gen online (email, social media, etc.) as well as during offline conversations. You’ll find more information on our FAQ page.

One sentence (when you just need the shortest possible explanation):

Gen2Gen is Encore.org’s campaign to mobilize 1 million adults 50+ to stand up for — and with — young people today. Sign up at iamgen2gen.org.

One paragraph (when you need the above, plus the why and the rallying cry):

Gen2Gen is Encore.org’s campaign to mobilize 1 million adults 50+ to stand up for — and with — young people today. By bringing the generations together, we’re working to realize the potential of longer lives, the potential of every child, and the power of older and younger generations working side by side for change. Time is short, and hope is within reach. What are you waiting for? Sign up today at iamgen2gen.org.

One paragraph (when you need the above, plus a little more what and how):

The Gen2Gen campaign is mobilizing 1 million adults 50+ to stand up for — and with — young people today. Powered by Encore.org and with the support of 150 partner organizations and thousands of activists, Gen2Gen is a diverse and growing community bringing the generations together to improve life for all, helping youth-serving organizations tap experienced talent, and telling a new story about the benefits of living Gen2Gen. Together, we can realize the potential of longer lives, the potential of every child, and the power of older and younger generations working side by side for change. Sign up today at iamgen2gen.org.

ORGANIZE EVENTS

One of the best ways to bring supporters together is by hosting a local event. Here are some ideas:

Host a Gen2Gen Movies + Mentors Watch Party.  Bring friends and family together to watching movie that featuring intergenerational mentoring. Learn more here.

Want to get people — in your book club, church group, Rotary, public library, family, etc. — talking about How to Live Forever, the new book by Encore.org CEO Marc Freedman? Download this discussion guide [Coming soon].

Turn your local laundromat into a literacy activity center for a few hours using this Laundromat Literacy guide.

Love the idea of creating a community gathering for adults over 50 interested in helping kids? Start a Gen2Gen Circle.
