STRATEGIES & SUPPORTS

Learn how to engage more adults over 50 in your organization by checking out the Gen2Gen Learning Hub. Become a quick study with these short videos and articles explaining how to reach your community of 50+s and develop effective outreach tactics and messages.

Join our Champions Facebook group. Join this invitation-only Facebook group to share questions and learnings with practitioners from other organizations, national experts and activists all working to unleash encore talent for their organizations.

Recruit adults 50+ as volunteers and staff members. Instructions on how to post your volunteer and paid opportunities to Gen2Gen supporters. Volunteer opportunities appear in Gen2Gen’s Opportunity Finder. Paid opportunities are promoted via our social channels.  

Share your stories and activities. Let us know about your efforts and events so we can give you a shout out on social media! Submit intergenerational stories, opportunities, and other news directly to [email protected].

Join a local Gen2Gen campaign. Led by local leaders, public agencies and/or nonprofit organizations, local Gen2Gen campaigns pilot new, innovative approaches to reducing generational isolation and expanding opportunities for adults 50+ to help young people thrive. Current cities are: Boston, Cincinnati, Los Angeles, San Diego, San Jose, Seattle and Tampa Bay.

Join a learning community. Gen2Gen has started several discussion groups for organizations that share a similar mission or target population and want to exchange ideas and best practices on how to best leverage experienced talent. Current topics are: early childhood education, multigenerational volunteer corps, and opportunity youth. Learn more.

Host an Encore Fellow. Could your organization benefit from an experienced professional in a high-impact, paid assignment in marketing, fundraising, technology, strategic planning, or other fields? Learn more here.

Organize a Gen2Gen Event: Take a look at the suggestions on our DIY page. Great opportunities for partners to engage their communities by hosting a watch party; hosting a discussion group about the new book, How to Live Forever; or turning your laundromat into a literacy activity center.
